Important Academic Achievements of the North Lakhimpur College:

1952 – Established.

1956 – Introduction of the degree course in Arts.

1956 – Recognized by UGC under section 2(f) & 12(B).

1966 – Arts stream was brought under deficit grant in aid system by Govt. of Assam.

1966 – Introduction of the degree course in Science.

1972 - Science stream was brought under deficit grant in aid system by Govt. of Assam.

1985 – Introduction of Electronics in the degree program (1st in Assam).

2002 - Introduction of Computer Science in the degree program.

2002 – Celebration of Golden Jubilee.

2004 – NAAC accredited B+ status.

2004 – Formation of IQAC.

2006 – Introduction of BCA course.

2008 – Recognized as IGNOU partner institute.

2008 – Established study center under KKHOU.

2008 – Awarded D.B.T. financial assistance.

2009 - Awarded D.S.T. financial assistance.

2010 – Conferred CPE status by UGC.

2010 – Introduced PGDDM course funded by UGC.

2011 – Launching e- Journal “Social Science Research” with ISSN No. 2319-8362.

2011 – Reaccredited by NAAC with an A grade (3.08 CGPA).

2012 – Establishment of Biotech Hub with financial assistance from DBT, GoI.

2013 – Conferred Autonomous status by UGC.

2013 – Introduction of PGDCA course.

2013 – Establishment of Language Laboratory.

2014 – Awarded CPE status (phase-II) by UGC.

2014 – Introduction of PG courses in Assamese and Electronics.

2014 – Recognized as UGC community college.

2015 – Launching e- Journal “Environmentalism” with ISSN 2455-3050.

2015 - Introduction of PG courses in Political Science, Chemistry, and Mass Communication.

2015 – Introduction of UG courses in Physical Education.

2016 – Establishment of Digital Library (http://nlcollegedigitallibrary.com).

2016 – Free internet is provided (WIFI Campus).

2016 – Establishment of the center for YOGA studies in collaboration with the Institute of Yoga and Nutrition Sciences.

2016 – Provided a synthetic athletic track by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI.

2016 – Ranked 2nd best college among all the colleges of Assam by Careers 360.

2017 – Introduction of skill development courses in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship.

2017- Establishment of Language Lab funded by RUSA.

2018- Introduction of B.Voc. Courses funded by UGC.

2018-The College placed in the rank band of 151-200 in the NIRF ranking.

2018- Accredited by NAAC (3rd cycle) and awarded B++ grade with 2.9 CGPA.

2018- Established the Innovation Cell recognized as a chapter of the Innovation Cell of AICT, MHRD.

2019- The Innovation cell was awarded star ranking from AICT, MHRD.

2019- College recognized to establish the SWYAM chapter of UGC.

2019- DST granted FIST project to the college.

2020- Established chapter of STARTUP Assam, IIM Calcutta.

2020- Introduction of M. Phil. Program in Assamese.

2021- Placed in rank 83 among Autonomous Colleges of India by Centre for Forecasting and Research, Delhi.   

2021- UGC extended Autonomous status to the College for 2nd phase.

2021- Ranked as 84th best Autonomous College in Nation by Education World Journal.

2021- Introduction of PG program in Physics, Zoology, English, Education, and Botany.

2021- Introduction of M. Phil program in Political Science.

2022- Established the Skill Hub is recognized and funded by NSDC.

2022- Approved Research and Development Guidelines and Ph. D. regulation of the college.

2022- Introduction of Ph. D. program in Dept. of Assamese and Pol. Science.

2022- College Biotech Hub up graded to Advance Level by DBT.

2022- College awarded ISO certification.

2022- Offered Unnat Bharat Abhjan project from Ministry of Education, GOI.

2022- NSS unit of the College awarded the best unit among colleges of Dibrugarh University.

2023- Got NCTE recognization for 4 year integrated B.A.B.Ed program.

2023-North Lakhimpur University Bill was Passed unanimously on 14th September during the Autum Assembly Session.

2023-North Lakhimpur University Act was published as Gazette Notification on 1st December 2023 which upgrades North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) to North Lakhimpur University w.e.f 1/12/2023.
