The Department was established in 1974; Mr. Premeshwar Borah and Mr. Birendra Kalita were the pioneer of the Department . Due to the endless efforts of Mr Birendra Kalita and Dr. Parismita Bordoloi the Subject was introduced as a Major Subject for B.A. stream. Then onwards the department has been fulfilling the dreams of the Aspirants who had pursued their career in the field of Hindi and has been successfully contributing to this Language of our Nation.
