Minutes of the 4th Meeting of the Research Council, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) held on 7th February, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Office of the Principal of North Lakhimpur College.
The following members were present in the meeting:

Dr. Arun Kumar Bordoloi : Member Secretary
Dr. Swapnali Gogoi : Member
Dr. Raghab Parajuli : Member
Dr. Bhabajit Bhuyan : Special Invitee
Mr. Rupam Gogoi : Special Invitee
The Member Secretary welcomed the members present and requested to take up the agenda for discussion. The Member Secretary read out the proceedings of the 3rd meeting and also briefed the objectives of 4th meeting of the Research Council, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous). After discussion, the proceeding of the 3rd meeting has been unanimously accepted.
No (1) To consider the project proposal submitted by the faculty for providing seed money.
The Member Secretary placed the proposal submitted by the following three faculty members seeking seed money.

Minutes of the 3rd Meeting of the Research Council, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous) held on 5th November, 2016 at 12.30 p.m. in the Office of the Principal of North Lakhimpur College.
The following members were present in the meeting:

The Member Secretary welcomed the members present and requested to take up the agenda for discussion. The Member Secretary read out the proceedings of the 2nd meeting and also briefed the objectives of 3rd meeting of the Research Council, North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous). After discussion, the proceeding of the 3rd meeting has been unanimously accepted.
No (1) To consider to provide seed money to the faculty for carrying out research.
The Member Secretary placed the proposal of submitting seed money to the existing faculties of the college for carrying out research projects. All the members participated in the discussion. Dr. Biman Chandra Chetia informed the members that seed money can be provided from the CPE grant as part of promotion of research. Mr. Rupam Gogoi suggested that the project proposal must focus on the aspects of Institutional Social Responsibility and preferably involve atleast 1 extension programme outside the campus. Dr. Bhabajit Bhuyan suggested to fix the amount of seed money to be provided. The meeting decided that a maximum of rupees one lakhs to be provided per year as seed money and the same shall be disbursed among the faculties seeking seed money as per the merit of the project. The meeting also decided to consider the proposal of part time teachers of the institution for the scheme.
After discussion the following resolutions were adopted.
No (1) Resolved to award seed money to faculty members (Full time as well as part time) of North Lakhimpur College.
No (2) Resolved that the project proposal must focus on the aspects of Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) and preferably involve at least 1 extension programme outside the campus.
No (3) Resolved that the maximum duration of the project shall be one year from receiving the grant.
As no matter has been left for discussion, the meeting ended with vote of thanks to and from the Chair.

No (2) To discuss on the proposal of launching a new international research journal on Environmental issues.
The Member Secretary placed the proposal before the members of the research council to publish a new international research journal on environmental issues. The members opined to publish an online journal. After discussion the meeting decided to form a committee to discuss on the matter and the Principal is requested to do the needful. Subsequently, the following resolution was adopted.
No (2) Resolved to form a committee to discuss on launching a new e-journal on environmental issues from the institution. It is also decided to request the Principal to do the needful.
