A Career Oriented Programme in Tourism and Travel Management is going on in the college under the auspices of the department of History. The course was introduced in 2012 with financial assistance from UGC in the 11th five year plan. The objective of the course is to enable the students to pursue a career oriented course simultaneously with their regular degree courses which will make them better equipped with a cutting edge to compete in the job market in future. The syllabus of the course is so designed to impart to the students theoretical and practical knowledge of tourism in general and in the context of north east India in particular. It consists of one theory paper of 100 marks and another paper on field study of 50 marks. The course is presently co-ordinated by Sri Atanu Gogoi, assistant Professor of the Department of History, and the department is well equipped to run the course. It engages both internal and guest faculties for teaching. Classes usually start in February and end in October. Most of the classes are audio-visual, supplemented by conventional methods. The examination is held in January after the semester break. The course is, however, restricted to the students pursuing undergraduate courses in the college only. Thirty eight students were enrolled in the first batch last year who were duly awarded certificates after successful completion of the course. Twenty eight students were admitted in the current session, i.e., 2013-14.

1. Herbal ( Medicinal ) Plantation under Botany Department.
2. Analytical & Computational Chemistry under Chemistry Department.
3. Fish Rearing and Breeding under Zoology Department.
4. Perfoming Arts under Assamese Department.
These courses are designed to be opted by students as a parallel sub-discipline while pursuing their degree level education.
